I’m pretty sure you guys have been on social media this past year and probably have been seeing more on these NFT’s like the ones above called Crypto Punks or some like it and might not know what they are. To keep it simple NFTs are tokens we can use to represent ownership of unique items like the ones above, almost anything at this point can be an NFT like artwork, moments in life like sports moments or even actual pictures that may already exist. The only difference is that only one person can own that NFT at a time and it can only be secured if you purchase them using Ethereum (Crypto Currency).

Now that you guys know what an NFT is sort’ve, the question always popped into my head of “How is coding involved in NFTs” because I know it deals with blockchains and these NFTs are usually sold on different marketplaces so I know coding definitely is a big part of this. I researched a bit and here’s what I found.

Mentioning Blockchains earlier since that is a major part of what languages can be used for coding an NFT there are only a few and that is JavaScript, Solidity as well formats of JSON. These 3 languages are important as they are the only ones that can really interact with smart contracts (cryptocurrency eco system) and Blockchains to create these NFTs. Now when dealing with the marketplaces themselves, languages like JavaScript, Kotlin & Swift are used to make the conversion of physical assets into these digital artworks and the processing of crypto royalties to the content creators of these artworks or even the investors that had a hold of the artwork of your choosing.

Believe it or not I even found alot of helpful guides and creators that actually teach others on how to code an NFT or a marketplace that would hold these NFTs of your choosing and I think that might be my next project since I’ve been so interested. What do you guys think of NFTs ?
